Ate here on 3-8-15. Worst. Experience. Ever. Olive Garden claims to treat you like family..... All I can say if my family treated me the way the greeter treated me I'd disown them. She acted like it was a chore to grab menus, silverware and show us to a table. Our waitress was ok. We did notice that the closer we got to the end of our meal the friendlier she became. The entrees were typical Olive Garden fare. One thing that caused this rating to only get one star was the soup. The Zuppa and the Gnocci were both served to us room temperature. Really?!? The Zuppa was more broth than anything else. The kicker was how I felt for the next 3 days. I was so nauseous I couldn't eat anything but dry crackers and ginger ale. It had to be the soup as that was the only food my family had that was different that evening and for several days prior to eating here. This experienced ruined our much anticipated vacation. This experience has turned me off of Olive Garden which is a shame as we would eat at our local OG several times a month back home.

As Olive Gardens go, it's about average. Nothing exceptional either way but typical of the chain. The location makes them very high traffic whenever tourist counts are up and that means there can be serious long waits at times. Waiting an hour for a seat in the summer is normal and especially at peak times. Coming here at 6:30 on a Friday night in summer and expecting fast service is foolish. It's chain Italian food. It's not bad but it's also not going to taste like that meal you had in Rome or Naples. It's not an old Italian grandmother cooking from scratch back there. But, it's well made from quality ingredients and sufficient if not too large portions. If you want a little less crowded and a newer store, head 10 minutes down the road to the 501 location. This one is two blocks off the beach, of course it's packed.

I haven't been to Olive Garden or a restaurant like this in at least 5 years, having mostly frequented these types of establishments when I was a kid, it was a bit of nostalgia being here. I assume it looks like any other Olive Garden, that 80s living room kind of look. Service I have to say was excellent. Southern hospitality is unbeatable. We had soup and salad before our main dishes and we were full! Surprisingly decent tasting too. By the time our food came we were able to nibble on it a bit but brought most of it back to the hotel. If you know what you are getting into food wise here, you will be fine. I was happy with my experience.

Not a great Olive Garden, Service is good, but the food is average and the wait times can be unbearable. General Manager made it right for my party, but I don't think I will go back there with a big group for dinner.

After the worst meal on our vacation at King Crab decided to try something safe... Thank god for Olive Garden always good love the salad

Usually pretty good, and on par with other Olive Garden restaurants, but when we went, it was an hour wait from the time we ordered until the time we got our food. Ridiculous! We complained to the manager and he comped our two kids' meals. Not super helpful. When the food came, it was fine, but we were so angry at that point that it didn't really matter. The hostess was snippy when we initially complained, saying, "Can't you eat the breadsticks and salad?" I usually love OG, but this experience has ruined it for me.

Was not the first choice of the evening. Wanted to try a local place since we are newly moved to Myrtle Beach. Arrived and we given the hockey puck of doom, gonna have to wait 30-45 minutes for a four top. Ok not great but we could hang. Got buzzed on our hockey puck of doom around 35 minutes 10 to the plus for us. Inside it is busy, servers and managers are pushing plates to get everyone fed, that was good to see. Our server was Shawn and he was quick and very friendly. The food was hot and tasted great. Even as busy as they were we never felt rushed and a member of the management team came over to check on us. Dinner at the Olive Garden was a nice treat. I hope to come back soon, and I hate to say that the local place that said they only took reservations Ciao, guess you didn't need our money.

Went for family dinner while on vacation. Our server was great and handled our large group well. He made great suggestions for both food and drinks and the service was fast!!! Love the new way of paying right on the tablets at your table makes it so much easier especially with little ones.

Another pleasant experience at Olive Garden. Service was quick and food arrived piping hot. Devoured the stuffed sausage rigatoni. Yummy!

Average by olive garden standards but we had a very inattentive waiter. And he forgot to bring the birthday cake we requested. Not the worst experience but really not a good one. Food was typical for an olive garden.

This is by far the worst Olive Garden I have ever eaten at. It looks nice on the outside, but inside looks like it was last renovated in the 80's. And the food was horrible! The salad was good, but the entrees were not Olive Garden quality at all. My boyfriend ordered the Taste of Italy and the Chicken Parmesan was inedible... We didn't even stay to finish our meal. I was very disappointed, Olive Garden has always been my favorite, Myrtle Beach needs to step up their game!!!

Drove to 2 "local" Italian Rest. at 12:30pm on Friday March 8th, 2013 and both listed as open on Yelp and both were closed. Drove a few blocks down and went to Olive Garden, a hometown favorite. Parking lot full, 2 hostesses on duty, 10 minute wait, and we had an excellent lunch! Thank you Olive Garden!

Had a party of 5 with plenty of open tables. 6 people come in after us and all were seated. Asked wait staff and were told to "hold our horses or leave" so we left. Never will return and warming all who will listen. Their loss since we usually spend 150 plus to dine in. Needs new management. Clearly.

For a chain restaurant in this area it was A lot better then I was expecting. Sever was great. Food was great. We dined on a Sunday night late. Best thing was after we ate we didn't get the "oh that food is going to hurt my stomach" feeling we normal get after eating from most places. Only knock we might have given was it was darker outside then IMHO it needed to be to feel safe going back to the car.

I was in the area looking for an Olive Garden and here it was! A brick building with an interesting look compared to all the other Olive Garden stores. As we walked in we seemed to have started the dinner crowd; at least 5 couples walked in within a few minutes we entered through the door. As we walked to the host stand, the lady behind the counter broke in a panic and flustered to organize everyone standing there. Without greeting anyone she began to call for names and party count! We didn't wait much but wish we did considering we were sat in a section that seemed closed out. Our server came to our table and immediately asked what we'd like to drink. As we ordered, my wife and I agreed to share an app and entree since portions are always very generous at OG; server quickly jumped and said there was a $3.99 charge for sharing salad! We decided to just have one of us eat the salad, no biggie. Our app came out with less than the normal amount of food, and to top it we only got 3 breadsticks the whole visit; never got offered more so I refrained from asking. We ordered a strawberry passion lemonade which is normally refreshing, but this one was dumped with flavored syrup; never got asked how was it, so I didn't say anything. Manager came by our closed seated section...to check on us? No, but she came by to separate tables and make more room for other guests. HUGE TURN-DOWN: "SMOKING IS ALLOWED BY THE BAR" the entrance smelled gross. Overall the food was good, but the service just wasn't there. I felt very uncomfortable eating there and wanted to get out.

Olive Garden is always good food wise but the service here was absolutely amazing, party of 10 was seated within 15 minutes and the waiters were the quickest I've ever had at any restaurant

Worst Olive Garden I've been to yet. Slow, not very friendly and food not that great. My kids are OG fans, so when we're out, they like to eat there. I had to ask 4 times for a glass of wine with my meal. The breadsticks were way oversalted and the waitress said that everyone had been complaining about them all day (well duh, DO something to correct it!) They were out of the drinks my kids ordered and out of one of the meals. The meals were not usual OG quality.

What can you say about OG other than it's excellent value for the money! I came here in a party of 6 and each of us was pleasantly surprised! Soup and salad is always a mainstay and pasta is very inexpensive and always huge portions! Service was excellent on the night we went! OG rocks! this location especially!

Had dinner with the wife & kid, pace was a little slow, food was decent. Shrimp scampi sauce has an interesting flavor, definitely not my favorite. My wife loves the salad & the kid loves spaghetti we'll go back but not in a rush.

Myrtle Beach Olive Garden has the slowest service of any Olive Garden i have been to. I do not see going back to this location.

My friends and I saw this place and immediatley thought "Wait....I have a gift card to this place." Two of us had a gift card so we decided to go to Olive Garden. I ordered the eggplant parmigiana which is lightly breaded eggplant, fried and topped with marinara sauce, mozzarella and parmesan cheese and served with spaghetti. This was great. Soo the problem was the sangria. This sangria tasted like berry juice. We paid good money for a pitcher we should get at least alcohol in it. We told our waitress this and she said it was premade and she would check with the bartender about it. So she goes to the bartender and comes back to say, "Yea he made it and that's the standard recipe for sangria and that is how sangria should be." I was thinking...lady I MAKE sangria....i know how sangria is made and how it tastes. I am a HUGE fan of sangria and have drank plenty of it so don't tell me that is how it is supposed to be. She pretty much ignored the subject of the sangria after that. She was nice enough about it, but it was annoying to send 20+ dollars on sangria that tasted like berry juice. Thank goodness I don't live in Myrtle Beach. Won't return.

Great service. We had 2 kids and servers went out of their way to make them feel included. I had a shrimp pasta trio, probably the best dish I've had at any Olive Garden. Wouldn't hesitate to go back.

By far the best Olive Garden that I've been to. Staff was very friendly and curtious. Food was delivered promptly and was piping hot. The 5 cheese zetti is awesome!

I love this Olive Garden and the food seems to always taste better here for some reason. Last time, I went I had a great waiter who gave us a card with a message on it and it was extremely nice. The fried zucchini was great so I recommend that.

Food is excellent, but we gotten wacky waiters and waitresses all three times we've eaten here. SLOW on drinks every time, but the drinks are good. Food is very good, but they always forget a FEW things. A group of us will order a few appetizers, and we'll get salad and soup, and then our meals. They forgot the appetizers- two separate times. One waitress had a conversation with us about waitressing, and she just kept complaining about how the tips aren't very good in their touristy area. She went on so long, it was like she was trying to get us to give her an extra big tip out of pity. They waiters also need to slow down on taking plates away... Twice the waitresses didn't even ask, they just took away something that the person was still eating. There was quite a bit of food on those plates. At the risk of sounding like I am complaining too much, I wish they would get back the San Reno Seafood Dip too.... SOOOO good. The cheese fondue that took its place is awful. Recommendations: Calimari Mussels House White Wine Sangria (girlfriend's favorite drink) Seafood Alfredo Chicken Parm.

This is a good Olive Garden quality food done to the companies standards. What make this Olive Garden above average is its staff! From the Hostess to you wait staff you will enjoy your time eating. Lots of bread stick, soup refills and full glasses with a smile. I'm glad they are now smoke free

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
